Some Hearts review
Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 10 September 2017 03:23 (A review of Some Hearts)A Retrospective
Twelve years later, after ominous hype from American Idol & FOX and millions of copies sold throughout middle America, this album is destined for bargain bins throughout America.
This album starts out with "Wasted," filled with cliché melodies after cliché melodies. You heard it all before, yet at the same time, you feel like scratching your head because of how generic the song is. And the whiny fiddle doesn't entice many people either. "Don't Forget to Remember Me" is, ironically, a forgettable song, you literally forgot what it sounds like if the song isn't played a million times a day in your neck of the woods. "Some Hearts" is just more of the same adult contemporary laddy daddy. It's interesting how Carrie Underwood boast of good Christian values in "Jesus, Take the Wheel," yet at the same time, acts like a vindictive, hateful person in "Before He Cheats." It's even more odd that she ends up with a "good girl" image despite this. The latter half of the album is simply glorified beige musical wallpaper. (One must note that the album art cover is basically beige, fitting for this album!) The album ends with that painfully syrupy Idol coronation song "Inside Your Heaven."
Twelve years later, this album is exhausting at best to listen to, torturous and demeaning at worst, you feel like music is coming to an end once you heard that this album sold millions of copies. The album basically has no merit of existing at all. It is aggravating that this album sold millions of copies because that means we have to see Carrie Underwood on every damn award show and football game. It's also aggravating that crappy music like this gets a pass because Carrie Underwood is "hot."
Don't even buy this album for a penny at a seedy shop. In fact, if you have this album within your possession, go to your nearest dumpster and throw it in there.

Shouldn't Be Respected...yet are. (13 person items)
"Quarter to half of this list I came to respect them a bit for some reason. But add in Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. I cannot stand people admiring an artist that gained fame from a reality show"
